About Soup Kitchen:
Soup Kitchen is a restaurant open to everyone but with the objective to provide daily free lunches for the urban poor and homeless in the city. Regular office workers and businessmen are invited as well, so as to remove the stigma from the poor and needy and give them the dignity to feel that it is not just a feed the poor handout program. We want them to know that we care and they are accepted by the community at large. There are currently two Soup Kitchens, one in Alor Star and another in Jinjang, Kuala Lumpur. Collectively we feed about 370 people a day. We also provide job opportunities for the mentally challenged to work as kitchen helpers and waiters/waitresses.
